Meet Our Occupational Therapist, Allison!

Hi! My name is Allison. I am from the Chicagoland area and went to the University of Indianapolis to pursue occupational therapy. I have always dreamed of becoming an Occupational Therapist and that dream came true in 2018! I graduated in 2016 with my bachelors in psychology, and went on to receive my doctorate in OT two years later. Since graduating, I have worked in First Steps, a pediatric therapy clinic, two different schools, and even a Skilled Nursing Facility. I feel as though all of my experience in these different settings have led me to become the therapist I am today, and I cannot wait to see the journey that Embracing Abilities will take me on! My goals has always been to join an amazing team like this and I am so excited to get started! My therapy approach is play and sensory based, with a goal of improving my patients’ independence so that they can have a greater quality of life. Some areas I am very passionate about include feeding and eating, handwriting, sensory processing, motor control and strength, and training in ADLs (Activities of Daily Living). In my free time I love to spend time outside. I love going on hikes, exploring new places, art, and music.

Embracing Abilities is proud to offer occupational therapy services to our clients.
